The vehicle was stopped for doing 24mph in a 35mph zone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Google self-driving cars have driven 1.3 million miles and haven\u2019t managed to get a speeding ticket yet. One of them was stopped by a Mountain View Police Department (MVPD) deputy on the El Camino Real near Rengstorff Avenue, a public road about 2.3 miles from Google\u2019s headquarters in\u00a0California, not for breaking the speed limit, but for travelling \u201ctoo slowly\u201d,<!--more--> as said the police, \u00a0and causing a big queue of traffic.\u00a0Google has been testing its prototype\u00a0self-driving cars in Mountain View\u00a0since June.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A photo of a Mountain View traffic officer pulling over one of Google&#8217;s cars for &#8220;driving too slowly&#8221; went viral this week after it was posted to Facebook\u00a0by Aleksandr Milewski. You can check the photo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=10207723907406259&amp;set=a.1401030476360.54371.1550271264&amp;type=1&amp;theater\" target=\"_blank\">here. <\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0According to the Mountain View Police Department (MVPD), an traffic officer observed regular traffic slowing down and noticed a car traveling 24mph in a 35mph zone. The Google self-driving cars operate under the\u00a0Neighborhood Electric Vehicle Definition of the California Vehicle Code\u00a0and can only be operated on roadways with speed limits bellow 35 mph. The MVPD\u00a0said that in this case, \u201cit was lawful for the car to be traveling on the street as El Camino Real is rated at 35 mph.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Google posted a photo of the incident with the caption: &#8216;Driving too slowly?
