Torque is\nthe amount of work that a motor or engine produces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Linear Labs\u2019 motor\nboasts three times more power, 20 percent&nbsp;greater efficiency, less complex\npower trains, and no gearbox is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The company, a father and son team, has raised US$4.5 million in funding to develop and commercialize a remarkable electric motor technology. Linear Labs claims the\u00a0Hunstable Electric Turbine, or HET, can massively reduce the size and complexity of electric power trains while doubling the torque output and significantly boosting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.interplextransportation.com\">efficiency.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A technology like this\ncould revolutionize automobiles, wind turbines, air conditioners, as well as\nrobotics, drones, and micro-mobility vehicles.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brad Hunstable, the company\u2019s founder and chairman says that his team believes they have built an entirely new class of electric motor that has not happened in 30 years.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Linear Labs has begun working with customers, yet unnamed, to jointly develop applications in electric and micro-mobility vehicles. The startup says a ride-sharing scooter company asked it to evaluate a\u00a0Segway\u00a0Ninebot ES4 motor.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The resulting Segway boosted four times the torque and enjoyed a\n50 percent increase in range, which increased the vehicle\u2019s top speed and\nallowed it to climb a steep 20 percent grade.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/newatlas.com\/linear-labs-hunstable-electric-motor\/60974\/\">New Atlas<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Hunstable Electric Turbine by Linear Labs can boost the efficiency of EVs, scooters, and wind turbines.
