The US expansion of the carrier also includes flights between Scandinavia and <a title=\"Los Angeles Transportation\" href=\"http:\/\/interplextransportation.com\/usa\/los_angeles.php\" target=\"_blank\">Los Angeles (LAX)<\/a> and<a title=\"San Francisco Transportation\" href=\"http:\/\/interplextransportation.com\/usa\/san_francisco.php\" target=\"_blank\"> Oakland-San Francisco (OAK).<\/a>\u00a0 Norwegian currently operates six weekly flights between Scandinavia and New. In November, the airline will commence flights from Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen to Fort Lauderdale, FL.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m very happy to announce the launch of three new intercontinental destinations. The major traffic streams currently go between the US and Europe and there\u2019s great demand for high quality flights at a low fare between the two continents,\u201d said Norwegian\u2019s CEO Bjorn Kjos.\u00a0From the airline also said it can operate the long-haul flights 30 percent cheaper than conventional airlines can, primarily because of the Dreamliners&#8217; lower operating costs. Norwegian flies mostly within Europe, though it has ambitions growth plans after launching long-haul flights\u00a0to Thailand and the United States in May. The airline already has announced plans to expand to Fort Lauderdale, as well \u2013 saying it would add service to all three Scandinavian capitals from the South Florida airport this November.\u00a0Norwegian is also offering an introductory fare of $236 each way, including taxes and fees.\u00a0The carriers web magazine put info on Florida\u2019s best attractions after the announcement , promoting the newest destinations.<\/p>\n<p>The flights by Norweigan Air Shuttle give Orlando International, which seeks to expand its international air service, an additional nonstop destination and point of origin in Europe.Besides non-stop service to Norway, the new route will also afford passengers direct connections to destinations in Europe, Russia and Thailand.
