The prototype was unveiled just a month after Jaguar debuted in Formula E, the electric car racing championship.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jaguar unveiled its I-Pace in a very unusual way by means of virtual reality: the concept was floating in 3D space as millions of viewers were watching on two continents simultaneously.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The five-seat production car is \u201cthe next generation of electric <a href=\"http:\/\/www.interplextransportation.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">vehicle<\/a> design\u201d, according to design director Ian Callum. The I-Pace is equipped with dual electric motors that will be able to launch the vehicle from 0 to 60 mph in just 4 seconds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jaguar is promising a range of 220 miles per charge and a spokesman for Jaguar claims that with an average daily commute of 30 miles, \u201cthe customers will need to charge their car once a week.\u201d The vehicle features a 90kWh lithium-ion battery that can be replenished fully in only two hours on a 50-kW fast charger.
