Selena Gomez, an actress and singer, will perform in Tampa on October 30, 2013. The concert is part of the 56-city world tour, called “Stars Dance World Tour 2013” in support of her highly anticipated summer album, which is set to be released in the summer. The tour includes cities like Boston, Atlanta, Houston, Pittsburg and even Dubai.

The lead single, “Come & Get It” from the forthcoming album of the singer, became her first Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and was certified double platinum. As an artist, Selena has already sold more than 10 million singles in the U.S. and is one of the most popular young stars in America.

The concert on October 30 will take place at St. Pete Times Forum in downtown Tampa, at 7:00 PM. The tickets are already on sale with prices ranging from $26 to $66.

The Color Run is coming back to Orlando on September 22nd, 2013. The only question is, are you ready for the colorful, funiest 5k of your life? If the answer is “Yes”, than hurry up and sign in, before the closing date on Friday, September 20, 2013.

The event, also known as the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”, is a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness and individuality. The five-kilometer, un-timed race in which thousands of participants are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometer is dedicated to having fun and excersise at the same time. The fun continues at the finish line with a gigantic “Finish Festival”, using more colored powder to create happiness and lasting memories, not to mention millions of vivid color combinations. 

To participate in the colorful celebration you should register, wear white at the starting line and finish plastered in color. There`s also the possibility to run solo or to form a team, but each team member needs to register in advance. The start window is scheduled for 8:30 am at the Citrus Bowl Stadium, but you can also go a little early and enjoy the pre-race party.

Regional carrier Silver Airways is adding flights from Palm Beach International Airport to Orlando and Tallahassee and weekend service to two Bahamas islands beginning Nov. 21.
Based in Fort Lauderdale, Silver Airways Corp. is a U.S.-owned and operated airline with nearly 200 daily scheduled flights .Orlando will be Silver Airways’ third nonstop destination offered from Tallahassee. The airline also flies direct to Tampa and to Fort Lauderdale from Tallahassee.

“This latest expansion in our operations is all about better serving the broader needs of our customers here in Florida,” said David H. Pflieger Jr., the airline’s president and CEO. “Within the state, we’re improving connectivity from north to south and extending our reach to the Bahamas.”
“Florida and the Bahamas are our bread and butter and the cornerstone of our network,” added Pflieger.

Silver will operate its Saab 340Bplus fuel-efficient aircraft on the new routes, which can carry 34 passengers. The planes feature leather seats, large and accessible overhead bins, flight attendant service, on-board lavatories and an active noise-reduction system, officials said. It has 27 of the aircraft in its fleet.

Chief Commercial Officer Travis Christ said the airline will scale back the Tampa-Tallahassee route to two daily flights as it adds service to Orlando and Tallahassee directly. In-state service will be more “balanced,” he said.

Round-trip flights will operate daily to Orlando, and continue on to Tallahassee, during the weekdays, and Bahamas flights will be offered over an extended weekend period. The weekday nonstop flight will offer travelers from Palm Beach International Airport the only non-stop flight between the two cities. Passengers will also be able to fly Silver to Tallahassee via Orlando.

The budget airline Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA plans to start twice-a-week, nonstop flights between Orlando (MCO) and Oslo, Norway, next year, starting May 29, using Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The US expansion of the carrier also includes flights between Scandinavia and Los Angeles (LAX) and Oakland-San Francisco (OAK).  Norwegian currently operates six weekly flights between Scandinavia and New. In November, the airline will commence flights from Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen to Fort Lauderdale, FL.

“I’m very happy to announce the launch of three new intercontinental destinations. The major traffic streams currently go between the US and Europe and there’s great demand for high quality flights at a low fare between the two continents,” said Norwegian’s CEO Bjorn Kjos. From the airline also said it can operate the long-haul flights 30 percent cheaper than conventional airlines can, primarily because of the Dreamliners’ lower operating costs. Norwegian flies mostly within Europe, though it has ambitions growth plans after launching long-haul flights to Thailand and the United States in May. The airline already has announced plans to expand to Fort Lauderdale, as well – saying it would add service to all three Scandinavian capitals from the South Florida airport this November. Norwegian is also offering an introductory fare of $236 each way, including taxes and fees. The carriers web magazine put info on Florida’s best attractions after the announcement , promoting the newest destinations.

To help launch the service, Norwegian is offering an introductory fare of $236 each way, including taxes and fees.
